Summer Holiday During The 2024 Olympic Games

In an attempt to revolutionize the summer experience for tourists in Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games, the city is introducing three urban beaches in its center, offering a taste of the coastal vibes of St. Tropez and Nice in a more northern setting. The traditional summer beach along the Seine river will be complemented by two additional beaches along the Saint Martin canal, one being a familiar feature in the Bassin de la Villette cultural district and the other a newer addition.

The Paris city government has assured CNN that the water quality at these beach locations will adhere to health standards throughout the Olympic Games. Pierre Rabadan, the deputy mayor of Paris responsible for sports and the Olympics, mentioned that the city will set up 30 testing sites along the Seine and its tributaries to continuously monitor water quality in real-time. This proactive approach aims to promptly address any potential pollution risks that may arise.

To capitalize on the competitive spirit of the Olympics, Paris is organizing a “District Olympics” where residents from different neighborhoods will compete in various sports to determine the best arrondissement in terms of athletic prowess. For those more interested in spectating and enjoying the festivities, Paris will offer a vibrant celebration coinciding with the arrival of the Olympic flame on France’s national day, July 14. Various locations in the city center will host torch relay events accompanied by music and entertainment, culminating in the grand opening ceremony on July 26.
